At DrinkMore Water, we carry two basic types of 5-gallon bottles – BPA-Free PET Plastic bottles and Glass bottles. We no longer carry any polycarbonate #7 bottles.
5 Gallon BPA-Free PET Plastic 5-Gallon Water Bottles
All of our plastic 5-gallon bottles are made out of #1 PET plastic. PET stands for polyethylene terephthalate for all you chemical engineers out there. They contain NO Bisphenol-A (BPA). As a matter of fact, DrinkMore Water was one of the first – if not THE first – bottled water companies in the nation to switch 100% to BPA-free 5-gallon bottles. The bottles are dark blue and have a handy handle for purposes of carrying and lifting them.
5 Gallon Glass 5-Gallon Water Bottles
We also carry Glass 5-gallon bottles. So, in the old days, many people got their water delivered in glass jugs. These 5-gallon containers used to be called car-boys – not sure why that was – but that’s what they were called. Let’s talk about why some people choose glass bottles for their bottled water. First and foremost, it’s about the purity. Glass will not leach any chemical into the water, period and end of story. It’s ALL about the purity. So, if you’re concerned about plastics in general – then perhaps you should consider our glass bottle delivery service. If there is one thing that’s certain – it’s that customers who choose glass bottles are definitely NOT drinking tap water. The reason is that they’re concerned about the contaminants found in tap water. Our main competitors do not offer their product in glass – it’s too complicated for them. For DrinkMore – we are all about purity – so it makes sense for us – and NOTHING is too complicated for us!!
Now, please be forewarned that glass bottles are not without their drawbacks. They weigh a couple pounds more than plastic bottles. They do not have handles – so that makes them a little more difficult to handle. And they are far more difficult to produce – because they can break if bumped into something. So, if you decide you want your 5-gallon bottles delivered in glass – we can do that – just be careful when handling them!
